Your race age is your age as of December 31st, 2010 (NOT 2009).

Pre Riding: The course will be open for warm-ups at 8:00am and maybe 15 min. prior to each event if the racers from the previous race have finished. Gather at the Finish line and a course marshal will let you know when the course is open. Riding on the course during an event is prohibited and will result in disqualification.

You all know that getting more then one lap on the course once we start the 10:00am race is almost impossible. Your best bet to get a couple of laps in is to get there before 9:00am and ride the course.

Pre-Registration: Pre-register online or pay $10 extra for race day registration. Registration is available online at www.bikereg.com. Online registration closes on Thursday, November 05, 2009 at 5:00pm (EST).

No mail-in registration.

Number pickup: Come to the registration trailer, it is open from 7:30am to 1:45pm, sign your release, and pick up your number.

Day-of Registration: If you do not register online, you will have to pay an additional $10 day-of registration fee.Day-of registration and payment is at the registration trailer. The sole exception for day of entry fee will be any racer in the 9:00am start block, who purchases a one day license.  One day license fee is $10.  We will waive the $10.00 day-of fee in this case only.

Complimentary Race Entry: Complimentary race entry will be given to the current MAC Series leaders of the Elite Men and Elite Women categories and to the current Cyclocross National Champions provided they wear their National Championship jersey (stars & stripes) and are racing in the category in which they won the National Championship.

Race Numbers: Place race number on the right side. Do not fold it.

Start Protocol:All classes will first go to the rider assembly area (aka the PEN) adjacent to the start line; you can not just roll up the start line, it will be locked down. The PEN will open precisely 20 minutes before start time. Don't be late. Listen for announcements just prior to your start time. If there are multiple classes then we will quickly sort you out, take care of call ups if any and place you on the start lanes. The process of sorting involves shouting with a bull horn and asking the racers to shut up. The start referee will give you race instructions on the start lanes. So when you get out on the start lane STFU. The Start lanes are clearly marked, one rider per lane, do not over lap the rider in front of you.

Call-up Protocol: Call-ups will be based on your current rankings as posted on the MAC Series website.
Note: The race director reserves the right to fill the call up grid with "race director provisional" call ups based on space available.  This will allow us to recognize other race directors that put on the races in the MAC series.  Without their efforts these races would not be here for you to race.  Reach out and hug a race director.

Starting: At minimum there will be a 30 second warning, 15 second and 10 second warning. At 10 seconds the Start pistol will be fired at random. Start on the Start pistol only. Persons who false start will be punished.

Lapped Riders: Lapped riders will finish on the same lap as the leaders.  Riders in danger of being lapped must yield to oncoming racers and are not to interfere with their progress or trail behind them. The race officials have final call on who is pulled. We strongly reinforce with the race officials that we would like no riders pulled from 9:00 am to 11:00 am race class.

In the races with cash payouts we are applying the lapped and out rule. This affects the 12:15pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm Elite races.

Pit: The pit is a double sided pit with a common work area between the 2 race lanes.

Exchange Lane: The exchange lane is 3 meters wide and it is for racers only. Pit people are not allowed to stand in the exchange lane only the bike should be there. If you have to repair the bike, bike and rider should be pulled into the work area.  DO NOT BLOCK THE EXCHANGE LANE!

Who is allowed in the Pit? Racers and 1 or 2 pit helpers. Do not hang out in the pit unless you are WORKING. The pit it is a work area only.

Setting up your  Equipment: Set up your gear without messing up the equipment set for the current racers.  Pull your stuff from the pit as soon as you are done racing. Don't store your stuff in the pit. Don't set anything in the exchange lane.

Prohibited in the pit: Washing buckets and glass bottles, people just standing around.

Bike Wash: Bike Washing is not allowed in the pit, all bike washing is to happen in bike wash area. People washing active racer's bikes can politely but firmly go to front of the bike wash line. Riders cleaning their bikes after racing must yield to race bikes.

Post Race: Get your stuff out of the pit. Thank you.

Results: Results will be posted on the results board adjacent to registration. Results will be made final 15 minutes after being posted.

Awards and Podium: The top 3 finishers in every event must report immediately to the registration trailer after they cross the finish line for awards, photos and interviews. We will have water for you there. Make sure your support people know where to meet you. Podium presentations will vary by class, when you check in after your race we will update you on exactly when and where your podium will be.

Anti-Doping:  Remember dopers suck, cheaters never win, and we will not invite you back - EVER!
