A true endurance event. Have you got what it takes to make it to the finish line?
Test your skills and stamina at the eighth annual edition of this premier mountain bike race.
The 100 kilometer option (62+ mile) course will wind through the beautiful and varied terrain of Southern New Hampshire. The single loop course will give participants a good mix of mountain bike terrain. The trail boss is always scheming to incorporate some new twists to the course, and this year will be no exception. A detailed description of the current year course will be available in an updated version of the Participant Guide as spring approaches, In the meantime, you can count on a challenging course, with a bit of everything mixed into the adventure. There is approximately 7,800 feet of climbing. You can see a map of the 2011 course here.
The 100 mile option will use the same basic course, with a lap point at the start/finish area. The second lap will be an abbreviated version, again with a few twists of its own.
There will be manned and self-serve aid stations on course. The manned feed stations will be at approximate 10 miles intervals (more information in Participant Guide). Each feed station will have a posted closing time. Any rider arriving at the feed station past the designated closing will NOT be allowed to continue on course, and will be returned to the venue via SAG wagon. In addition, there will be a cutoff time at the 62+ mile lap point for the 100 mile competitors. Those not meeting the cutoff time will NOT be allowed to continue on course for the final 38 miles. This is for the safety of all.
Please note that the course crosses many private landowner areas, and these areas are NOT open for pre-riding. Doing so will jeopardize future editions of the event. We take seriously the privacy rights of our generous landowners, and expect all participants to do likewise. If interested in previewing some of the trails passing over private properties near the end of the course, Greenfield Trails Association may again offer led pre-rides on Saturday afternoon/evening.
We request all participants to use the utmost care and courtesy while passing over nearly 80 landowner properties. As invited guests, we certainly should NOT leave ANY items behind. We consider this unacceptable guest behavior. Please make sure to read the Participant Guide for further discussion on proper disposal of items while on course.
Racers will be responsible for the information in the Participant Guide.
Venue address: Oak Park, 791 Forest Road, Greenfield, NH 03047
If a participant does not wish to take advantage of the complimentary rough camping at the venue (available Saturday night only), more traditional overnight lodging, for a fee, may be found in the area. Helpful links include the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, Visit NH, and Greenfield State Park.
For participants planning any necessary air travel to the event, we recommend Manchester-Boston Regional Airport as one convenient alternative, located approximately 35 miles from the venue.
Beneficiary will again be Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center, which is dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities and their families. This event specifically supports their accessible recreation and sports program. This program aims to bring people living with disabilities together with family and friends in a range of accessible recreational and sport activities.Visit Crotched Mountain's website for more information on, or to make an additional donation to, this charitable organization.
