Cyclocross Training Race
August means it’s almost CX season, and this training race will give you a test of how well you are prepped to hit your fall schedule of events. No huge prize list, no large packs, no pressure. Just a bunch of fun while under race conditions, with a dash of recognition, camaraderie, and basic prize incentives.
This course will be a spectator-friendly one of approximately 1-1/2 miles that stays within Oak Park and nearby wooded sections. Expect a few “interesting challenges” along the route.
As a training race, there will be no formal ability designations in force. We start with two classes---an Open Men and an Open Women, each planned as 40 minutes in length.
Lapped riders will NOT be pulled from the course, and all racers may request a printout of their lap times for their training records.
Short Track Mountain Bike Race
Only ride on fat tires? Then enter the short track mountain bike event that will be run on nearly the same course as the cyclocross competition, with just a few modifications. Expect the same spectator-friendly event with an emphasis on fun and camaraderie. We start with two classes---an Open Men and an Open Women, each planned as 6 laps in length.
