About the Circuits:
The Kearsarge Klassic Dirt Road Randonee is a mostly dirt loop in central New Hampshire. The super epic circuit is one of the hardest, most beautiful and most fun loops you will ever ride. The super epic route is over 100 miles long with over 10,000 feet of climbing. That climbing will earn you spectacular and beautiful views of some of the most scenic parts of New Hampshire. The southern and northern epic circuits are also challenging with over 8,000 feet of climbing and 85 miles of mostly dirt road riding. If you are interested in riding one of the three epic routes, just register for the epic circuit.
The event also offers a middle distance circuit of 65 miles that also includes lots of climbing, scenic viewpoints, twisty and fun roads and lunch. For the recreational rider, a 30 mile loop is offered with a lunch stop. The 30 mile loop is not hill free, but the climbing will be less demanding than the longer circuits. Rest stops and lunch will be provided for all circuits.
Almost seventy percent of the riding for the different circuits is on dirt roads (less in the 30 mile circuit). The roads are easily rideable with a cyclocross bike. The dirt roads and secondary paved roads are traffic free (for the most part), hilly, scenic, twisty and just plain fun. The roads traverse many of the properties conserved by the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust. Rest stops and lunch will be provided for all circuits. About the Cue Sheets:
The final 2013 cue sheets are available on the website. The routes will be somewhat changed for 2014, but the 2013 cue sheets describe generally the routes that will be used for 2014. All registered riders will receive a link to the final 2014 cue sheet after registration closes as well as important information about the event. Final cue sheets will be available at registration as well.
About the Food and About Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust:
We are providing homemade food courtesy of Ausbon Sargent at the starting location, the rest stops, and the lunch location. For food we will offer muffins, sandwiches, chili, corn bread, cookies, fruit, pickles, energy bars and drinks, and other delicacies. After the ride, we will have a post ride meal with free beer offered to all adult riders.
This event is a fundraiser for the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust. The Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust has been preserving properties for over 25 years. Since its inception, Ausbon Sargent has preserved over 120 properties with nearly 10,000 square acres of protected land. Over 165 volunteeers of the preservation trust work to manage the acreage protected. The routes in this event will give riders an opportunity to appreciate the accomplishments of the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust.
All entry fees are paid directly to Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust as a charitable contribution to the organization. By paying an entry fee, you are entitled to one entry to the event. The entry may be transferred to any rider at any time before the date of the event.
