The Kansas Law Enforcement Ride for the Fallen is an annual bicycle ride to the KS Law Enforcement Memorial in Topeka, KS. We ride to remember our fallen brothers and sisters who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and to honor the surviving family members who have lost so much.
The 5th annual ride will be Thursday May 2, 2024. Our starting point will be the Leawood Police Department and we will begin pedaling at 9:00 am. We plan to arrive at the memorial in time to attend the annual Candlelight Vigil, which begins at 8:00 pm. At the conclusion of the vigil, there will be busses on site to transport the cyclists and bicycles back to our starting point.
The bicyclists who make this commitment to honor our fallen heroes will pedal over 100 miles on our way to the memorial. Bicyclists do not have to ride every mile of the route as we will have support vehicles with us the entire day. We will make this journey as a united group riding a 15 mph pace and police escort. Each of our 6 rest stops will have well-stocked aid stations to re-hydrate, re-fuel, and to share memories and stories of those we ride to remember.
Participation in the Kansas Law Enforcement Ride for the Fallen is limited to current or retired law enforcement employees (sworn or civilian), and our family members. We are also honored to welcome the surviving family members of any fallen law enforcement officer. The registration fee for the event is $165. In addition to 5th year anniversary jersey, all riders will receive a box lunch, snacks along the route and return transportation. We are not a fundraiser so your registration fees pay for expenses and logistics of the event. Any remaining monies will be donated to an organization with a similar mission.
Registration closes on February 19, 2024 or when we reach our limit of 50 riders.
