Allianz Registration Insurance - The Registration Protector
AthleteReg now offers Allianz Registration Protection to participants when they register for events that cost $50 or more.
Allianz Registration Protector gives your participants an opportunity to get reimbursed for up to 100% of their entry if they can’t attend the event for a qualifying reason.
There is no cost to event directors and no obligations or liabilities if they make a claim, it’s handled entirely by Allianz Global Assistance and you can direct any questions about the protector to us by emailing [email protected] or calling us at (888) 956-9560.
**Allianz Insurance Policies aplicable in the United States
What should I do if a participant bought Allianz Registration Protection and they ask me for a refund?
If the participant is eligible to make a claim on their registration protector, they should go to https://www.eventregistrationprotection.com/allianzassistance/ManagePolicy/ and enter their policy number and purchase date. If they don’t have a policy number, they can click “Don’t have your policy number?” and proceed from there.
If they aren’t eligible to make a claim, you are not obligated to issue a refund if you don’t have a refund policy in place.
What does it cover?
Participants may be eligible for reimbursement in the following situations:
Illness or Serious Injury - if the participant is prevented from participating in the event due to a covered illness or injury, or if a family member is hospitalized or requires care by the participant
Employer Termination - After being employed by the same employer for one continuous year, the participant is laid off
Traffic Accidents - if you are directly involved in a traffic accident and unable to get to the event
Mechanical Breakdown - if the participant's car breaks down no more than 48 hours before the event
Airline Delay - if the participant's plane or other Travel Carrier is delayed (includes bad weather) while going to the event
Home Issues - if the participant's home is uninhabitable due to fire, flood, vandalism, burglary or natural disasters
Jury Duty - if the participant is required to serve on jury duty on the day of the event
Military Duty - if the participant is required to miss an event as a result of military orders
