These courses are first come, first served and are non refundable. We will offer this course a few times over the season, so if this opportunity doesn't work out, there will be others. Select this if you are interested in fulfilling the on the bike 101 skills training [+more] to take a stop toward reaching your level 2 coach status. If you have questions about your license status, please check your pitzone account or check https://www.nationalmtb.org/coaches-license-program/ for more information. We are going to offer two sessions in Southeastern PA (on in the morning and one in the afternoon) and one session in Southwestern Pa. These sessions are on 3/21/2021. The courses are first come, first served and are non refundable. We will offer more sessions throughout the season if you miss out on this one. The SE course is at Lormier Park https://www.montcopa.org/872/Lorimer-Park The SW course is at Boyce Park https://www.alleghenycounty.us/parks/boyce/index.aspx Details will be sent to all registrants on March 1st. This course will... » Provide coaches an experiential learning opportunity on how to hold NICA practices; » Demonstrate how to effectively coach a NICA interscholastic cycling team/club; » Introduce the skills coaches will need to teach their student-athletes; and » Facilitate a safe learning environment for coaches to practice all aspects of the training and receive mentorship from competent supporters. This training is not meant to be a “one-stop” resource covering the wide variety of situations and challenges a NICA coach may experience in working with student-athletes, other coaches and parents. The NICA On-the-Bike Skills Training is designed to provide an overview of what coaches working with NICA student-athletes need to know to be successful in delivering a youth development experience through mountain biking. This is the beginning of a journey that to date has no end.
