Last year after I started the Southern New England chapter of the Brotherhood Ride my nephew, Braydon Dion, woke up one morning and without anyone putting the idea in his head he came up with this all on his own.

“Mom I want to do a Kids Brotherhood Ride. I want to raise money and give it to the kids whose parents have died.”

So for Braydon we will be having a “Kids Brotherhood Ride” fundraiser on July 14, 2019 from 12-3 PM at Old Colony RVTHS in Rochester, MA. We ask that every kid who wants to participate to raise at least $25 and if they are pre registered they will get a kids Brotherhood Ride T-shirt. There will be an ice cream truck, face painting, a bouncy house, a fire truck to check out and a DJ playing music. The ride route will just do a lap around the school where there is no traffic and they can ride as many laps as they want.

Braydon has a huge heart and is always putting others first. Might I add he was 6 years old at this time, he is now 7. The first picture below is right after he seen the passing of Yarmouth Police Dept. Sergeant Sean Gannon on the news. Again without anyone putting the idea in his head, he asked to go bring flowers to the memorial outside the police station. I am so proud of him, he is wise beyond his age. I hope to see a bunch of kids having a blast with him at this event for a great cause !! Please help spread the word and have your kids tell all their friends that they don’t want to miss out on a good time !

The Southern New England Brotherhood Ride is a team of active and retired Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers and EMS personell who ride bicycles in honor of a line of duty death. We ride our bikes to each community a year after they are affected by a loss to show that their sacrifice will never be forgotten. We provide emotional support to the families, coworkers and communities as well as financial support to the families. The organization is funded by year round fundraising. All of the proceeds, with the exception of the ride itself, get hand delivered to the families whose loved one will never return home. Not one team member collects a paycheck or is compensated for their time.
