Hello everyone. I will keep this short and simple. Due to a number of unforeseen factors I have had to make the very difficult decision to cancel the event this weekend.

This is never ever an easy decision to make. I have been hosting this event for 8 years now and it brings me an immense amount of joy being able to host each and every one of you on trails in my home town that I love so much. When we first started this event the park was little used and frankly all but unknown by even the locals. Since we began these events the park has grown in scope, new trails have been added, the town has funded new parking facilities, trail signage has been installed and many other things have been improved for the trail users over those last 8 years.

With that new attention it has also brought significantly more use. There was a very unfortunate accident on one of the stages for the race and a rider (not a racer) was very badly injured. It is my understanding that the town is working hard to ensure that the park can be continued to be used for mountain biking in the future, but they are navigating the challenges of liability and exposure for this and other occurrences. While the town deals with the backlash of such a challenge I feel it is best to tread lightly as to preserve the relationship with the town who so graciously has let us utilize the facilities for as long as they have.

I fully intend to be back hosting the event next year, bigger and better as always. Everyone will be issued full refunds for their registration fee for this years event. I hope you all understand why this decision had to be made. I sincerely apologize for all of the inconvenience this may cause.
